Social Business Award 2007 supported by Microsoft
Social Business Award is given to excellent social businesses to honor their good achievements. The Social Business Award promotes further social businesses by awarding successful business models that implement both social mission and sustainable management. A lot of social entrepreneurs, particularly in early stage and middle stage, are to be greatly motivated. Most of social businesses in Japan are facing financial difficulties in achieving economic self-reliance. Those awarded successful business models provide social entrepreneurs with information and hints for their own businesses. ■3 points to select award winners The excellent social businesses need to be “social”, “innovative” and “financially stable” so that they are sustainable.
■4 Categories The "Microsoft Award" was newly added this year. - Social Business Award: given to an excellent CSR project by companies or organizations - Social Venture Business Award: given to an excellent project implemented by social (Non Profit/For Profit) ventures - Social IT Business Award: given to an excellent social project with IT utilization - Microsoft Award: given to an excellent social project in early stage
